Formula 1
Formula One is the highest level of international racing for open-wheel single-seater formula racing cars. Since its establishment in 1950, the World Drivers' Championship, which later became the FIA Formula One World Championship, has been one of the most prestigious forms of motorsport in the world. A Formula One season is made up of Grands Prix races held around the world on both purpose-built circuits and closed public roads.
Formula One cars are the fastest regulated road-course racing cars in the world, owing to very high cornering speeds achieved through the generation of large amounts of aerodynamic downforce.
